Class 17: Mrs Veli, Mrs Rice, Mrs Dickson
Class 16: Miss Allen, Mrs Betteridge
As Year 6, here at Lakeside, ends in an amazing residential visit to London, the whole year's theme is connected to the places we will visit there. Our learning journey continues with:
Autumn Term's theme- 'The Accidental Prime Minister'
Welcome to Year 6. This term's theme is inspired by "The Accidental Prime Minister" by Tom McLaughlin. We will be finding out about everything linked to British Parliament and even holding our own debates and election. Studying British Prime Ministers will lead us to find out about leaders and people who inspire us- in particular, Lord Alan Sugar whose determination and resilience resulted in him becoming a successful business man and earning a seat in The House of Lords. We will be hoping to follow on from his success as we plan our own business enterprise to raise funds for our London residential.
Homework: Homework is given out on a Wednesday and brought back in to school the following Monday. Children are given English, Maths and spelling homework. It is suggested that children spend 30 minutes on each piece of homework.
P.E days: Tuesday (outdoors) and Thursday (indoor games). It is suggested that children keep P.E kit in school from Monday to Friday.
